- I've done some recent work with A Fresh Look on food and farming and going to share those posts and some others that I've worked on this year.
- Earlier this fall, I worked on this blog post with them also:
- And for the Beyond The Science Series with the Genetic Literacy Project in partnership with The Global Farmers Network:
- As well as a critique of Dr. Oz's "take down" epidsode of the weed killer glyphosate in food.
- At the beginning of the year, I was asked to participate in the Food Tank's Washington DC Food Summit
- I had a lot of fun with SoundBitesRD Melissa J Dobbins recording this podcast on Soil health, weed control, and glyphosate.
- I also answered a couple consumer questions posted at GMO Answers:
- For Today's Dietitian, I spoke about the importance of agricultural sustainability:
- And share this story for the Retail Dietitian's Business Alliance.
- Was featured on the President's Page of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Finally, co-authored and published a long awaited paper in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The one post I have not completed is my annual cost of production comparison for GMO vs NonGMO soybeans for 2017. Now that 2018 harvest is nearly over, I'll probably wait and crunch the numbers for both years and write it up here in 2019... or at least that's my goal.
So it was a busy year for me in real life with running the family farm, getting both kids off to college, a busier that usual number of speaking engagements, and on social media. I lapsed here on blogspot for a good chunk of the year because I could not remember my password and log on only to find out that it was linked to a gmail account I no longer use and had to reactivate.
But having done this post in a short amount of time, this may very well be the format I use going forward. Again, if you want to follow me more regularly, I pretty much post every day on at least one of my social media platforms.
Have a great holiday season. See you in 2019!
